- Middle names are rarely used in resumes.
Contact Info
- Be sure to include your phone number and email address. It is also common to add your location, LinkedIn, and GitHub profile.
- If you don’t need visa sponsorship, you may want to mention your visa status.
Summary
- Introduce yourself in 2-3 sentences. This section is optional.
Work Experience
- List your experiences in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent.
- Include the company name, location, job title, duration, and key achievements for each role.
- This is the most critical part of your resume.
Skills
- Highlight your core technical skills. This section is optional.
Education
- List your educational background in reverse chronological order, including your school, major, and graduation date.
Projects
- For entry-level software engineers with limited professional experience, this section is especially important.
- For experienced engineers, the Work Experience section should take priority, so this section may be optional.
